You have all seen it before if you scroll to the bottom of a webpage and you have a link to the SEO provider? ie http://www.cheapblinds.com.au/ and scroll to the bottom where you will see the link `Search Engine Optimisation’.
We always ask our clients if they have an issue with us putting a link on their webpage to ours? In the majority of cases the clients don’t mind but occasionally some do. If a client accepts or denies our requests doesnt change the service we offer them.
So why would we add a link? For me personally SEO is a work of art and the link is a signature of the artwork. The majority of paintings have signatures so why cant we?
Furthermore adding a link confirms that you are actually performing SEO for that client, in one particularly case we noticed one SEO provider stating they did SEO for a leading bank, upon further investigation we actually found out it was for a very small outside department of the bank which had a very small relationship to the actual bank.
Some providers say that allowing an SEO provider to add a link only boosts the SEO providers rankings, and while this maybe true it certainly doesn’t do any damage to the clients site.
At TopRankings we are proud of our results we achieve and adding a link to us confirms that we don’t try and hide our capabilities. I am very skeptical of companies that don’t add their link; are they ashamed of their results? Of course some clients don’t want to add their link for several legitimate reasons but overall if you are good at SEO you should be proud to showcase your work.
