At TopRankings we continue to refine our own rankings, we have unique keywords we are targeting which the average SEO doesnt target. The majortiy of clients dont even know about the term `search engine optimisation‘ and thus it hasnt proven effective to us to target this term as a keyword, instead keywords like ‘website rankings‘ continues to pull in the enquiries, afterall if your clients dont know of the term why target it as a keyword?
Now of course some clients know about Search Engine Optimisation and thus they would perhaps search for the term Search Engine Optimisation but simply targeting your site to a % of the population that knows about your service is not advisable. You need to target your site for a vast array of potential visitors that way you are attracting a bigger % of the population. Search Engine Optimisation as a keyword is a secondary keyword for us but not the bee all end all.
